Super star.....Leadership Wisdom

Super star was recently awarded as the Greatest Living Legend by NDTV..
He was one of the 25 Precious Gems who was duly honored by this award.
An Aaam Admi  from being a bus conductor to becoming a Superstar....he humbly claims it is a "Miracle"

I like his unique style and enjoy watching his movies.
I searched for his punch dialogues and found some popular dialogues. I have attempted to apply it as Leadership Principles:
This is the net result....read on.......

1.Padayappa

En vazhi thani vazhi

Literal translation: My way is a unique way

A leader has to have an unique style of influence and motivation. His/her  USP must be  different and attract followers.

2.Baasha

Naan oru dhadavai sonna, nooru dhadavai sonna madhiri.

                        Literal translation: If I say it once, it`s equivalent to having said it a 100 time

A leader has to think a number of times before taking any decision .....once the decision is made and expressed by the leader that is the last word.....once said is said......a leader need not repeat it and the followers have to remind themselves 100 times. 

3.Arunachalam

Andavan solran. Arunachalam seiran.

Literal translation: God commands. I obey.

Leaders must be God fearing. He or she must listen to the inner voice. Ultimately he/she is answerable to God.

A leader in all his endeavors must take final command from The Almighty.

4.Annamalai

Naan solrathaiyum seiven, sollathathiyum seiven.

Literal translation: I`ll do what I say. I`ll also do what I don`t say.

Leaders must walk the talk...but he or she can not say everything ......there should definitely be an aura of mystery around the leader...the followers have to accept that leaders can also do what they do not express.

5.Sivaji

Kanna, panni dhan Kootama varum. Singam Singleaa dhaan varum.

Literal translation: Only pigs come in herds. The lion always comes alone

Leaders are always alone....It is lonely at the top .......translating and expanding ... the vision is the leaders job and he has to do it alone.....sometimes he has to fight the challenges alone.

6.Muthu

Naan eppo varuven eppadi varuvennu yarukkum theriyathu. Eppo varunumo appo correctaa varuven.

Literal translation: When I`ll come, how I`ll come, nobody knows. But when I need to come, I`ll be there.

A leader has to build trust and should be always alert. Leaders carry damascus sword above their head.

Surprise visists around the place in command and being there when the followers need is a requisite trait of a leader.

  

7.Dharma Durai

Nallavana erukallam annal romba nallavana erukakudathu.

Literal translation: You can be a good person. But you shouldn`t be a very good person

A leader has to be good... but cant be very good and cannot be good always.....to retain power the leaders have to be strategic.....diplomatic ......and extend friendships to their enemies also. 

8.Netrikan

Naan eshwaran illa da, Koteeshwaran

Literal translation: I`m not just God. I`m a rich God.

Leaders must follow the Godly values that is rich in character such as integrity, honesty, humility These qualities adds rich intrinsic values to the leaders.

9. [16 vayathinilae]

Idhu epadi iruku

Literal translation: How is this?

Leaders have to involve the followers to be participative and seek there consensus before implementation of any new schemes or project.....keeping everyone in the loop is very important for a leader. 

                                                              10.Mullum Malarum

Ketta payan sir intha, Kaali.

Literal translation: This Kaali is a bad guy, Sir.

Leaders are not always good guys .......they can also be bad guys ..........the situation determines whether the leader is an Asura or a Deva..

11.Muruttu kaalai

Seeviduven…seevi

Literal translation: I`ll chop you into pieces

While in power the leader should ensure that the fear component is not eliminated among the followers. A democratic leader sometimes have to be a dictator also.....because the buck stops at the leaders door.

12.Baba

Naan late-aah vanthalum,latest-aah varuven.

Literal translation: Even if I come late, I`ll be the latest.

It is not important how late a leader comes or what he does ...what is important is how he does it....the leaders initiatives must be relevant to the current scenario...and challenges.
His/ her ideas must be latest...not just  following conventions.

 
                                                                           13.Annamalai

Kashtapadaama edhuvum kidaikaadhu. Kashtapadaama kedachu ennikum nilaikaadhu.

Literal translation: You`ll gain nothing without hardwork. And even if you do, it won`t last for long

Leadership is also hardwork..... there is no substitute for hard work...... If the leaders do not burn the midnight oil how will the followers be inspired.....leaders have no choice but to work hard.

14.Baba

Katham, Katham. Mudinchathu mudinchu pottchu.

Literal translation: Finished. Finished. What`s done is done.

Leaders must be consistent not changing their view points repeatedly, leaders must analyze all perspectives and decide .....once decided and expressed that is final. reverting back or changing the course  will only lead to confusion.

15.Sivaji

Chumma adhirudhulla.

Literal translation: You`re quaking, aren`t you?

And finally the Charisma.....While leaders are in the move the vibrations must be felt by their followers.....lest they may become complacent..

The Lion/ness is in the move.......so Adhirunamlle.
